A bit of history: Labor unions in the United States are organizations that represent workers in many industries recognized under US labor law since the 1935 enactment of the National Labor Relations Act. Their activity today centers on collective bargaining over wages, benefits, and working conditions for their membership, and on representing their members in disputes with management over violations of contract provisions. Unfortunately this does not apply to self-employed workers. DriversUnion.org is a SMALL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION. This means that unlike conservative unions we can now expand our scope to those drivers who usually cannot benefit from belonging to a traditional labor union. If you are self-employed (1099) you can now join us and be part of the movement! All self-employed workers benefit from joining our association because we aim at setting pay standards and workplace protections. Our members — workers like you — benefit most from the association’s collective bargaining power to negotiate with business partners and legislators on their behalf. By joining our association you as a member have more power than if you tried to negotiate as an individual. Our association helps protect employees from unjust dismissal. Many self-employed workers can be fired at any time for almost any reason. Members of our association also benefit from having the COLLECTIVE POWER to go on strike. A strike is when a group of workers stops working either in protest of generic labor conditions or as a bargaining tool during negotiations. Join our association and gain power! Head over to https://www.driversunion.org/signup/ If you have friends or know someone who works as a self-employed Driver let him/her/them know about us! We are working on a subscription model that can accommodate everyone. We earn as much as you do. We want to include the following: By joining our association you get to be part of our growing family of self-employed Drivers. SOME THINGS NEED TO CHANGE NOW! THE MORE MEMBERS WE ARE THE LOUDER WE CAN BRING ABOUT THOSE NECESSARY CHANGES.
